Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate, dynamic, and dedicated Secondary French Teacher to join our Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department. You will deliver high-quality British curriculum French lessons across Key Stage 3, GCSE/IGCSE, and potentially A-Level (Key Stage 5). We welcome applications from both experienced practitioners and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are eager to inspire a love for language and culture in a vibrant Middle Eastern setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver High-Quality Instruction: Plan and execute engaging, communicative French lessons aligned with the British National Curriculum.
- Promote Language Acquisition: Utilize modern language teaching methodologies to develop students' speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
- Adapt to Cultural Context: Tailor teaching methods to inspire students across co-educational junior classes and gender-segregated senior classes.
- Assess and Monitor: Set regular formative assessments, track student progress, and provide constructive feedback against UK/GCSE standards.
- Exam Preparation: Prepare senior students thoroughly for external GCSE, IGCSE, and A-Level examinations (e.g., Pearson Edexcel, AQA, or Cambridge).
- Extracurricular Engagement: Contribute to the wider school life by organizing French cultural events, language clubs, or international celebrations.
Requirements & Qualifications
To meet strict UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) visa and teacher licensing guidelines, you must possess one of the following qualification pathways:
- Pathway 1: An internationally recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Education specializing in French / French Language Teaching, plus QTS (or equivalent).
- Pathway 2: An internationally recognized Bachelor’s Degree in French Language / French Literature / Linguistics, plus a PGCE/PGDE in Secondary MFL/French, plus QTS (or equivalent).
Additional Criteria:
- Language Proficiency: Native or near-native fluency in French, with excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience Level: Open to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
- Curriculum Knowledge: Deep familiarity with UK exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, or Cambridge CIE) for GCSE/IGCSE.
- Cultural Awareness: High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity suitable for a diverse international school environment.
