About the Role
Are you an Early Years expert ready to lead a curriculum? The British School of Tenerife (BST) is looking for an outstanding Early Years Teacher (Nursery/Reception) who is also passionate about EYFS Leadership.

In this dual-impact role, you will deliver high-quality, play-based learning while leading the strategic development of our EYFS curriculum. With a focus on early language acquisition and phonics within our high-EAL international community, you will play a key role in shaping the foundation of our students' education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement an EYFS action plan focused on phonics, reading, and EAL progression.

Requirements

•    Qualified teacher status (UK or equivalent) with substantial EYFS teaching experience.
•    Strong knowledge of the EYFS Framework and proven ability to lead curriculum development in early years.
•    Expertise in early language development, systematic phonics approaches and supporting EAL learners in the early years.
•    Strong interpersonal skills; able to engage families and work bilingually (English/Spanish) desirable.
•    Commitment to inclusive practice, assessment accuracy and high expectations.

Person specification — desirable
•    Experience in teaching EYFS.
•    Training in Read Write Inc. (or equivalent phonics scheme), speech and language support, or child development/psychology qualifications.
•    Experience in an international school setting.
