Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate, versatile, and dedicated Secondary Teacher to join our dynamic international department. The ideal candidate will be capable of delivering high-quality education across both History and Politics (GCSE & A-Level). We welcome applications from specialists who can seamlessly deliver both subjects to exam level. We are also fully supportive of Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to begin or continue their teaching journey in a vibrant Middle Eastern setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver High-Quality Instruction: Plan and deliver engaging lessons in History and Politics following the British curriculum frameworks.
- Flexible Subject Delivery: Teach History and/or Politics up to Key Stage 5 (GCSE & A-Level).
- Support Student Progression: Adapt teaching methods to inspire students across co-educational junior classes and gender-segregated senior classes.
- Assess and Monitor: Set regular formative and summative assessments, provide constructive feedback, and track student progress against UK curriculum standards.
- Exam Preparation: Prepare senior students thoroughly for external GCSE, IGCSE, and A-Level examinations.
- Collaborate: Work collaboratively within the department to share resources and contribute to extracurricular initiatives.
Requirements & Qualifications
To meet UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) approval guidelines, candidates must possess one of the following qualification pathways:
- Option 1: An internationally recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Education specialising in History or Politics with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
- Option 2: An internationally recognised Bachelor’s Degree in any subject PLUS an internationally recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE/PGDE specialising in History or Politics with QTS or equivalent.
- Option 3: An internationally recognised Bachelor’s Degree in an aspect of History, Politics, or a closely related discipline with QTS or equivalent.
Additional Criteria:
- Experience Level: Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome.
- Subject Versatility: Must be qualified and confident to teach both History and Politics.
- Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with the British National Curriculum (GCSE/A-Level).
- Excellent communication skills and cultural awareness suitable for an international school environment.
