About you

As part of the School Leadership Team, you will play a key role in leading and developing Teaching and Learning and Continuous, Personal and Professional Development across the school towards achieving its vision of excellence. You will be responsible for overseeing key areas of school improvement, and contributing to the its continued positive school culture. The role also includes supporting the leadership of staff, student welfare, and liaising with parents and the wider community.

• Hold a good bachelor’s degree and PGCE qualification from a reputable UK university.

• Have experience of teaching English National Curriculum, as well as experience in a leadership role.

• Have strong leadership and management skills.

Specific Responsibilities:

• To plan and deliver the best quality lessons to engage and challenge your students.

• To lead and manage teaching and learning across the school, and to ensure agreed policies and practices are delivered consistently.

• To lead and manage Continuous Personal and Professional Development across the school, and to ensure agreed policies and practices are delivered consistently.

• To contribute to the strategic planning and decision-making processes of the school.

• To work closely with staff to ensure high standards of teaching and learning are maintained.

• To develop, and deliver, professional development programmes in line with school improvement.

• To foster excellent relationships and effective communication with all stakeholders including students, staff, parents and wider leadership teams

• To uphold the school’s values and ethos in all aspects of school life, and act as an advocate for the school within the wider community.

• To plan and facilitate key training programmes, for example, ECT network, both for QIS ECTs and other ECTs at other schools in Qatar

• To lead on whole school Quality Assurance.

• To lead the planning, communication, and delivery of our OLEVI programmes.

Our School – currently comprised of about 2,200 students aged from 3 to 18 – is a vibrant, fun and multicultural place of learning. It offers an engaging and warm environment, where children and staff alike are on a journey of continuous learning.

 

Across each Key Stage in Primary, our students enjoy a creative, skills based, curriculum delivered through 'I wonder' and continuous provision (EYFS), continuous provision /thematic learning (KS1), and thematic learning (KS2). Specialist lessons for Arabic, Islamic Studies, PE, French, Music, and DT form part of students’ personalised timetables, supporting further our broad and balanced curriculum offer. Our class teachers are highly trained in programmes such as Talk 4 Writing and Read-Write-Inc, which we use to enrich the children’s learning. Classes are supported by trained, qualified, and experienced Learning Support Practitioners.

In Secondary, the curriculum that is offered is based on the English National Curriculum. The students study a broad and balanced curriculum in Key Stage 3 (Year 7 – 9) before they begin to specialise in Key Stage 4 (Year 10 & 11) and Key Stage 5 (Year 12 & 13) to match their personal interests and future career aspirations. The students will take International GCSEs in Key Stage 4 and A level and International A Levels in Key Stage 5. We also offer BTEC qualifications in Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
