The Role & Key Responsibilities
The Head of Primary will provide strategic and operational leadership across EYFS, KS1, and KS2. Key responsibilities include:
- Academic Leadership: Ensuring high standards of UK teaching methodologies and curriculum delivery from FS1 through Year 6.
- Pastoral Care: Upholding excellent classroom and behaviour management while fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive community.
- Staff Management: Mentoring, tracking, and supporting continuous professional career development for primary school teachers.
- Community Partnership: Collaborating actively with parents, the admissions team, and senior leadership to drive student success.
Key Requirements
We are seeking an adaptable, resilient, and professional primary school leader who meets the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree plus Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent valid international teaching credentials.
- Experience: Proven leadership experience (e.g., Head of Primary, Deputy Head, or Key Stage Lead) within a UK school or inspected British International school setting.
- Curriculum Mastery: Extensive, up-to-date knowledge of the English National Curriculum (specifically EYFS and Key Stages 1 & 2).
- Background Checks: Clear enhanced police background checks / DBS and ICPC are mandatory.
- Desirable: Candidates who are SENDCO-trained are strongly preferred.
